While we are not saying this the best of the best of BMX locations in the world when there are so many extraordinary locations, but there’s a reason why so many top BMX athletes, companies and all around BMX enthusiasts live in and around the city. Austin is a city that lives and breathes BMX, with the perfect architecture, public spaces, and dedicated skate and BMX parks that just sets the atmosphere apart from other locations.
With meet ups, groups and the space for riding and practicing different stunts and tricks, there’s nothing missing from this city as a BMX haven. Plus, if you are looking for fun off the bike you’ll have plenty of opportunities: Public swimming holes, local sights and activities, bars, nightclubs and music galore, as Austin is the self-proclaimed live music capital of the world.

The Black Pearl, Cayman Islands
In partnership with Mountain Dew, the Black Pearl (perhaps you’ll even seen Jack Sparrow wandering around) is the largest outdoor concrete park in the western hemisphere, and the second largest in the world! If you’re lucky enough to visit the Cayman Islands, you’ve got to have the Black Pearl on your trip’s schedule. It has courses for beginners, intermediate and expert levels, plus has state-of-the-art facilities for all. And plus, it’s the Cayman Isands…do we really need to convince you why you should go?

Do we need to explain why Barcelona is one of the best spots in the world for the BMX? In case you weren’t aware, it’s often said that Barcelona could’ve been built to ride, with its stunning architecture, cool Spanish vibe and of course…legendary BMX spots. When you’re off your bike, there are plenty of things to do, food and drink to enjoy, and centuries of history to explore. Just remember to look out for tourists and to beware of the Spanish heat – it gets HOT during the summer months!

‘Le Bowl’ Skate Park, Marseille, France
France’s largest outdoor skatepark is also one of the best places in the world for BMX riding, and gazing at its awesome graffiti. It’s a must-stop for adrenaline junkies, and is one of the top European locations for BMX riders looking for an epic, skate/BMX tailored location to show off and practice their skills.

Paris, France
While we’re in France, let’s stop by the Capital: Paris.
What’s not to love? History, culture, amazing views, age-old monuments and cuisine is just scratching the surface of what one of the most iconic cities in the world has to offer…and we haven’t even gotten to the best of the BMX scene yet.
Two of the best spots you can’t miss: Place de la République and the Mappmonde, are locations that the best of the best of the sport are often seen with their bikes.
There are plenty of other top-notch locations that BMXers ride at, like the Palais de Tokyo and Montmartre, and more!
What non BMX things can you do? The sky’s the limit. From grabbing a simple baguette sandwich from the local boulangerie or fresh croissant and coffee for breakfast, the food everywhere is awesome, as is the art, of course. Speaking of Country Capitals, we can’t possibly not include the capital of the USA, Washington DC. With over 70 sq miles, there are plenty of places for street sessions and all kinds of BMX fun in the sun. From walls, steps, slopes to rails, and the rails, you’ll never be able to try every single spot, so you better get started! There is also the Shaw Skate Park, just for all you BMX and skater junkies.

SMP Skate Park, Shanghai, China
Zipping across the world to China, you’d be missing out if you never went to the SMP skate park that was formerly the largest in the world. At 44,936 square feet, the SMP skatepark in Shanghai has the biggest bowls and the biggest ramps and is still iconic to the sports world. With a list a mile long of things to do in Shanghai, from experiencing the culture, museums, food and world of Asian life, this would be an epic BMX trip.
