The Motul Roof of Africa, aptly known as the “Mother of Hard Enduro”, is one of the world’s toughest Hard Enduro races. Over three days riders are put through their paces across the mountain kingdom of Lesotho. More than 400 riders returned to tough it out after the Motul Roof of Africa saw its second-ever postponement as a result of the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. To celebrate its return, a new Iron Class was added to give lesser experienced riders the chance to experience the mountains of Lesotho from the saddle. The new class was run alongside the established Gold, Silver and Bronze Classes.Defending Roof champion Wade Young of the Sherco Racing Factory Motul Team, hot off the international circuit, spearheaded the fight for Enduro glory this year. He attempts to defend his crown in the face of stiff Gold Class competition from the likes of Travis Teasdale (Trax GasGas), Brett Swanepoel (Rockstar Energy Husqvarna), Matt Green (Matthew Green Racing), Luke Walker (McLarens bLU cRU Yamaha), Kerim Fitzgerald (Red Bull KTM) and Heinrich Aust (Rockstar Energy Husqvarna).In a twist of events, extreme weather conditions forced the organisers to change the format for the final day of the event.
